Hi

I readily want to do this right.

I came here on a 60 day tourist visa and was to do my final 30 day extension on 15th April.

When the Amnesty was given, I found possible flights but list 4k due to cancellation etc.

I decided to use this time to marry my lady Of 5 years now) due to the uncertain time. Have most of this organised,

I will then as soon as possible return Australia and organise the correct and proper visa..ie MARRIAGE. or if not possible to do, being married I can bring her to Australia until this settle here.

Hope this fits with what you feel is right.. Always wish to be on the correct side if Thai Law.

Warm regards

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user initially entered Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa and plans to marry a Thai national. They seek advice on transitioning to the appropriate visa, specifically a marriage-related visa after returning to Australia. A commenter clarifies that there is no direct marriage visa in Thailand, but the Single Entry Non-O Visa based on marriage can be applied for after the wedding, letting the user stay in Thailand and apply for an extension.

Hello. I’m not exactly sure what you are asking:

>I will then as soon as possible return Australia and organise the correct and proper visa..ie MARRIAGE

A marriage visa doesn’t exist in Thailand. There is a “Single entry non-O visa based on being married to a Thai national”. This visa is good for 3 months, and will let you enter Thailand ONCE to get the paperwork to apply for an extension of stay based on marriage. You need to be legally married for this visa, with the rose border certificate, and you need either an income of 40K THB a month OR 400K THB in a Thai bank account.

Most people do not get this visa in their home country, but usually get it in Savannakeht or Vientine, Lao because of how close those consulates are. However, the point is moot since both Lao and Thailand do not allow non-citizens to enter.

>being married I can bring her to Australia until this settle here.

That’s not Thai visa advice, you’ll have to find an Australian Visa Advice Group.

My advice is to go on the automatic amnesty, which will let you stay in Thailand no later then July 31. When the borders reopen, go to Lao and get the Non-O visa, and start the process for the Extension of Stay based on Marriage to a Thai national.
