Single marital certificate issue by your home town district officer in English language, sign and stamp both documents by the Thai embassy in your own country and then travel to Thailand, stamp and sign by your embassy in bkk and after that go ahead jaywatna for to submit all documents and waiting for marriage documents may be a month, fresh information I experienced 2018

This information is to marry in Thailand, yes I understand to apply for an Extension of Stay or Visa based on married to a Thai National, marriage and register the marriage should be the first step. But I guess the OP already made that step and now wants to stay longer in Thailand.

Best option is to visit the local Immigration Office together and ask for the hand out with all the requirements needed in your situation and area.
