TLDR : Answer Summary
This post seeks current information regarding the marital visa in Thailand. It includes comments offering advice about transitioning from a work visa (NON-B) to a marriage-based extension. A specific process is described where the individual must cancel their employment extension, then apply for a yearly extension based on marriage to a Thai national, noting the lack of financial proof required from foreign females marrying Thai males.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
IF you are on a yearly extension based on employment from the immigration office (NOT on a year-long, multi-entry Non-B that you bounce in and out of the country every 90 days on) you can do this;
Get a letter from your employer stating you want to cancel your extension of stay based on employment to get an extension based on marriage. Take that to the immigration office with the documentation needed to get a yearly extension based on marriage.
The second you cancel the extension based on employment, you apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage to a thai national. Because you're a foreign female marrying a thai male there is NO proof of funds like foreign guys that marry thai women.
All you're doing is changing the reason you're getting an extension of stay for. (from employment to marriage). It will go under consideration for 30 days and then you go back and get the year extension inked into your passport.
Thanks, I don't know if you have to change to a Non Immigrant O visa first or can apply for the Extension Of Stay holding a Non Immigrant B visa and work permit. Just wait till others comment. Case is: Female wants to marry her Thai BF and continue to stay on Extension of Stay based on marriage, now holding a Non Immigrant B visa.
Did you search for the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai National or for the Extension of Stay based onbeing married to a Thai National.
