Hello. I'm applying for Non-immigrant visa online but I'm facing some issues. For "Visa Type", if I pick "Non-immigrant Visa", then there is no option "retirement" in "visit purpose". But if I pick "LTR Visa" for "Visa type", then I can see "retirement" option in "visit purpose", but later I'm requested to provide BOI letter that should be irrelevant for Non immigrant visa. In a nutshell, I'm lost. Any tips guys ? Thank you

Hello everyone and thank you for your input.

I’m getting the LTR visa for wealthy pensioners, I have everything i need. My only question is to those who have used this visa. When you got your BOI letter and then went to the consulate and had your visa stamped where you told how many days you have to enter Thailand? I can’t seem to find any info for this question and AI couldn’t find any specific reference to it. Looking forward to your reply.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in Australia and looking to apply for a Thai Non-Immigrant O visa as a step toward obtaining a retirement visa in Thailand. From what I understand, this is the correct path—please let me know if that’s not right.

I checked the Royal Thai Embassy Canberra website and found the following required documents:

1. Biodata page of your passport or travel document

2. A recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months)

3. A document showing your current location (e.g., utility bill or driver’s licence)

4. A letter of qualification endorsement issued by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) — This letter is only valid for 60 days and must be applied for via [[members only])

I’m a bit confused about point #4. Has anyone here applied for this BOI qualification letter? What exactly does it involve, and how do you go about it if you're applying as a retiree (not under a business or investment category)?

If you've gone through this process, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience or walk me through what you submitted and how long it took.

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi all, my WP and visa will end by Dec 21 and I will not work anymore. I plan to switch to dependent visa under my husband. I will fly out of Thailand on Dec 22.

I asked in another forum and I've been informed that BOI/ labor dept will issue a letter to allow me to stay 7 days after my visa's expiration date.

However when I asked HR in my office, she said differently (she could misunderstood my case though). She said, as per update on 1 Jan 18, I need to apply for another visa immediately. Or pay overstay 500 thb per day.

Do you know more information with regard to my case?

Thank you very much.
