Hi Everyone,

Currently on a Non-B 1 year extension. I plan to leave my current job at the end of May and travel out of Thailand for six weeks before returining to work for a different company in Bangkok.

Will i have to apply for a 90 day visa when i return or would i be able to extend the same work permit/work visa?

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Non-B visa with a one-year extension and plans to leave their job and travel out of Thailand for six weeks. They seek clarification on whether they need to apply for a new 90-day visa upon their return or if they could extend their current work permit and visa for a new job. A commenter advises that the user must cancel their current work permit and visa extension before leaving Thailand, as they cannot apply for an extension under a different employer using the current work permit.

You need to cancel your work permit and extension based on employment before you leave Thailand. You cannot apply for an extension for working for a different company on your current WP and extension.

You need to talk to your new employer about the procedure for your new visa including where you have to apply.
