For those on a Non-B (extension based on employment) is it going to be possible to change jobs within country if you can arrange documents on time? IE having the documents ready, cancelling work permit/extension, and then getting a new extension on the same Non-B with another school/company on the same day? Or, is pretty much everyone in that situation going to need to leave the country, get a new non-b, and come back?

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is theoretically possible to change jobs while on a Non-B visa (employment-based extension) within Thailand, provided that the necessary documents are arranged and timings are coordinated effectively. Both current and new employers must meet immigration requirements and work together to facilitate the process. However, it is advisable to consult with your local immigration office to ensure compliance and to verify if this can be done without needing to exit the country.

Possible or not? Theoretically, possible.

Your new employer needs to meet the requirements for the in-country process. Maybe your both employers need to take precise timing to proceed with your process. First of all, you better check your local immigration office if you can do that, and have your new employer talk with IO and Labor office about if they can proceed with it.

Your extension could be added to your current one if you can arrange it in advance. Or it would start on the day you apply.

Does that mean the new extension should start on the same day the old contract ends or the following day? My contract ends on March 31, for example.

In theory you can cancel and apply direct for a new extension of stay with a new employer, but sometimes not all parties can meet requirements or work together.

That's what I was expecting. Theoretically possible, but practically unlikely. Thanks for the quick answer!
