Hi all! I'm on a Non-b extension and work permit ofcorse. If I want to change my employer and apply new extension and permit under that employer, is it possible for me to transfer or what is the procedure? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to change employers while on a Non-B visa extension. However, you will need coordination between your current and new employer to cancel your existing extension of stay and apply for a new one simultaneously.

It is possible to do it, but it will require a lot of coordination between your old employer and your new employer. You will have to cancel your existing extension of stay based on employment, and then at the same time apply for a new extension of stay based on employment.

is it? I change job 2 times and both times I need to exit Thailand and come back with a tourist visa , or apply a non b single trip at embassy outside of Thailand...

work permit need to cancel and re apply

it *IS* possible, but requires both the current and future employer to work together. Almost all employers would want them to leave and return because it's easier for them. But with the borders to Thailand closes, and the cost to return, I think it would give the future employer a lot of motivation to work with the current employer. The immigration office must also be willing to do this as well.

Thank you! Yes both have been helping me over the past few years. Let's see if they have any suggestions for me. I also have another question, due to COVID-19 lock down, my company was shut down for 2 months hence I was not paid, means no taxes were paid too. Do you know of any case or have any knowledge if immigration will exempt these two months or I could face problem with extension?

I don't believe this will affect your extension of stay at all. For the extension of stay based on employment, you will need to make minimum wage, and it doesn't mentions anything about taxes.

No we don't. I doubt there'll be any visa companies who would be that familiar with this process. *Virtually* all visa companies (may be known as "lawyers" or "accountants") either hold your hand while you drop off the papers at the local immigration office, or get the extensions of stays through less ethical means.

I would take both of your companies to the local immigration office and see what they can do.

Same goes with the work permit? Do you know if WP needs to be cancelled/transferred first?

You'd work with both the current and future employer about that to get your new employer name added to the work permit and the old one removed.
