Dear Sirs,

I have been working for Thai company for 8 years, with renewal of work permit and non Imm B visa annually on 21st April.

This year, on 21st of April, my contract with current company finishes, and I start new contract with new Thai company on the same day, so 21st April.

Please can you advise me for the process for change work permit and non Imm B visa over to the new company, and the time scale to start the process of application. I assume I need to renew both work permit and visa on the same day ?

Your advice will be much appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process to change your work permit and Non-Immigrant B visa to a new employer in Thailand involves adding your new employer to your current work permit, canceling your existing visa, and applying for a new visa with the new employer's documents. It's advisable to coordinate with both employers and the local authorities to facilitate the transition. In practical terms, it may be easier to leave Thailand and re-enter with a new visa after the new work permit is approved.

In theory this can work. Add your new employer to your current WP, cancel your current Extension of Stay, apply directly for new Extension of Stay with documents of new employer, than cancel your old employer in your work permit. But for this you need both employers, Ministry of Labor and Immigration Office all willing to support this. In practice, cancel wp and extension of stay on last day working. Leave Thailand and come back with other visa, when new employer has the WP 3 application accepted form apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa and than collect your new work permit.

Sounds good. You can always apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay if your new boss needs more time to get all the documents in order. Or just get the Single Entry Tourist visa and get 60 days on arrival.

. Thank you very much for your quick response and advice. If in the end, I do need to cancel wp and visa extension, go out of Thailand and come back in, what visa do I come back in with ? I am British citizen, and so could I come back in on the 30 day visa exemption stamp? During that 30 days, make the application for the new wp and new non imm B visa for new company. Would that be correct ?
