Hey guys,

I have a visa and a work permit, I got a new job and I would like to move, I am just scared my previous company will cancel my current work permit when I move, how easy is it to make a work permit transfer?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When changing jobs in Thailand, transferring your work permit can be straightforward or complicated depending on your visa type. If your current work permit is tied to your existing employer, you may need a document from them stating their agreement to add your new employer to your work permit. Alternatively, you can cancel your current work permit and visa on the same day and apply for a new work permit and visa with your new employer. However, if your visa specifically names your current school, moving jobs would require you to apply for a new visa as you cannot work for another employer under that visa.

Forget about your wp, if the name of your school is on your visa , then you can't move... You'll have to apply for a new one.

The work permit only allows you to work for that school anyway. You can't just use it somewhere else.

Can be a few ways. You can get papers for labor department from current employer saying the are ok to add new employer to your WP, then go to labor dep.with these papers and documents from the new employer and add new position in WP.

Second way which i did recently. It is cancel old work permit and visa same day, and the same day make new Visa and work permit from new employer.
