👋🏼 Hello all! I am moving from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, and changing employers. Can anyone tell me the updated process for transferring provinces without leaving the country? I have a work permit and Non-B Visa extension expiring 30 June 2021.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your work permit and Non-B visa from Chiang Mai to Bangkok while changing employers, you essentially need to go through a process similar to what you did with your previous employer, as long as it's not the same employer in a different location. You must coordinate between both your old and new employers as well as the corresponding immigration offices. This involves canceling your current work permit and visa extension in Chiang Mai and applying for a new visa extension at the Bangkok immigration office. Although it's complicated, it is feasible.

you need BOTH the old and new employer AND the old and new immigration office to work together so you can coordinate canceling your work permit and extension of stay up in Chiang Mai at the immigration office then come down here to apply for a new extension of stay at the Bangkok immigration office.

It will take some doing, BUT it can be done.

Moving to another province doesn't matter. Changing employers does.

you need a new work permit for the new employer then immigration will amend your visa accordingly. But you won't need to leave the country.

The process is basically the same you went through with the employer you are leaving, unless it is the same employer, just a different location. It doesn't matter if it is the same job, only if it is same employer. Basically you start over.
