Asking for a friend:
He's on a Non-B working for a well-known investment company in Thailand but was offered a new job at a Thai university (non-teaching).
The university told him that he'd have to do his Non-B all over again because the Non-B aren't the same. Is that true? Can't he just transfer the Non-B to his new employer?
Thanks for helping out. :)
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the process of changing jobs in Thailand while on a Non-B visa, specifically whether it was possible to transfer the visa to a new employer at a university. Responses suggested that while it is technically possible to change jobs without leaving Thailand, it usually involves significant coordination between the current and new employers. If the visa allows work for another employer and is not tied to the original employer, a new work permit may be necessary. Consulting with the Ministry of Labor and seeking guidance from the BOI (Board of Investment) is advisable.
