I am currently under an extension of stay until sept 2025.
I’d like to change job in December. Both employers are in the same province.
What’s the procedure to transfer my visa to my new employer?
I had investigated this matter a few years back and remember that everything needs to be bone within 1 day but don’t know the exact procedure.
Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your extension of stay to a new employer in Thailand, first, understand that you cannot directly transfer a visa. You'll need to coordinate with both your current and new employer to gather the necessary documentation. Go to your local immigration office to cancel the current extension with your old employer's documents, and then immediately apply for a new extension with the new employer's documentation. It's advisable to consult with the immigration office beforehand, as procedures can vary by province.
Better confirm all details with your local Imm office and Labor dept. The process may vary for each province.

You can't transfer a VISA but you said you're on an extension so we'll go with that premise 🙂
you need to coordinate with BOTH employers to pull it off. (y)
You get documentation from the employer you're leaving, and documentation from the employer you're going to be working for
go to the immigration office cancel the extension you're on with the one set from the old job employer, then immediately apply for a new extension with the documentation from the new job employer
It can work but it takes you getting your ducks in a row with BOTH employers (and I'd also talk to the immigration office beforehand to let them know what you're doing as well)

Thank for your answer. We do plan to go to immigration beforehand to get the information needed
Some additional questions:
- I suppose we also have to go to the labour office and do the work permit on the same day?
- Assuming everything falls through, my extension will get cancelled and have to leave within 24 hours. Can I pay 1900 baht and get an extra 7 days before having to leave?
If you do get the "Extension denied, 7 dayus to leave Thailand" stamp then even if you get all your documentation sorted within those 7 days you still have to leave and re-enter.
Thanks, that was my understanding as well. I just see that option as a backup plan if it fails, just time to organize myself to leave and apply for new non-b abroad.
