Jomtien Immigration changes or agent BS?

Friends stay will be 66 days total. He entered on visa exempt and has extended (with agent) 30 days, which they said had to be done in Korat as Jomtien no longer issuing 30 day extensions???

Agent also said immigration won’t grant him a further weeks extension and he’ll have to do a border run in order not to incur a 6 day overstay.

Any of this correct??
