Hey guys, I was wondering what are the pros and cons of a dtv vs a marriage visa? We are planning to get married regardless so is it even worth a me going down the dtv route?

I have no doubt I will get a few but pls refrain from sarcastic comments šŸ¤£šŸ™

Hello, does anyone have any insight as to what qualifies for the ā€œsoft powerā€ visa? I am interested in Thai language courses as well as meditation retreats, would this be acceptable?

Hi all,

I am about to start a program of medical treatment in Thailand, which with follow ups and so on, will last approximately 1 year, with likely follow ups into subsequesnt years (it's a hip replacement - with complications).

Does anyone have any experience of applying for the DTV based on these criteria?

To add - I already live in Thailand, but i work rotations offshore outside Thailand, and am looking for a way to make my visa situation better than continual tourist visas.

Just got approved for soft power medical from Washington DC. Was super simple. Made an appointment at Bangkok Hospital and submitted that email confirmation. They requested a more official letter so I emailed the hospital for an official letter of appointment which they provided within 24 hrs. Another 24 hrs later DTV approved. I definitely recommend the soft power options if your self employed / business owner but providing certain documents is going to be difficult.

For those who have received a DVT going the cooking route, has anyone had success with a school in Bangkok apart from the Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy?

I thought I had initially seen courses in the $500 range that qualified for DVT, but now theyā€™re over $1,000.

Yes, $1,000 is still a bargain for a 5 year visa. But thereā€™s also the possibility that weā€™ll have to reup every 6 months, and leave the country as well. Those costs would certainly add up over 5 years.

Hi All!

I have a child and girlfriend living in Thailand and I'm currently looking at suitable visa types. My job makes things a little trickier as I work outside of Thailand for 28 days and then I will spend 28 days in Thailand away from work, this rotation will carry on indefinitely so multiple entries is a must. I sent an email to the Thai E Visa website and they responded saying a DTV would be the most suitable option. However, when I look at applying for a DTV on the E Visa website the only choice I seem to have is that of a spouse of a DTV holder and not that of a parent of a Thai dependent as the lady stated in her reply. I've tried emailing a few times again but just get the same reply stating the DTV. Has anyone here been granted a DTV as the parent or guardian of a Thai dependent and if so how did you go about it?

Hey Guys, Just another quick question, I'm going over to Thailand to do my Scuba Diving Certifications, I'm going via the UK Visa Exemption Scheme which gives me 90 days to play with,

Is there any chance I can get this confirmed by someone, Am I able to get a different visa while I'm already over there, Like an airplane ticket, I was wondering if there was a thing like a 90 day to like 2 years... I know there's the Non-Immigrant Type B Visa, but I'm a bit too far gone to start the process of acquiring one of them before my flight out on Monday...

What options do I have, because the more time I have to play with, the more time I can pursue my career in Scuba Diving.

Hello,

Which countrys allows:

1 montly bank statement above 500'000 THB

1 x 500'000 THB for family (One DTV, one spouse and two children?

Monthly revenue 4020 Euros

(Preference not the e-visa because of the processing time and because we are in ThaĆÆland now)

And do you know any agents who can make that work?

(I read almost the whole feed but I am still confused, sorry)

Thank you for your help!

Sorry if stupid question, but I am looking at applying for the 90 day visa (I think Non O?) and then once in Thailand look at opening a bank account and getting the retirement visa (from what people say here, its easier and you don't need to buy the insurance as when you apply for it in your home country). The Thai website prior to recently changing over to the new e-visa website had information about it, but from what I see the new e-visa website doesn't mention it at all? The only option they list for non-o is the o-a and o-x. All I have seen online says you apply for a 60 day visa and then extent for 30 days in Thailand, which seems pointless given that we (Aussie) from 15/7/24 will get a 60 day visa exempt? Has the 90 day non o been removed?
