Can I qualify for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand with my stock trading income?

Hello everyone, I am from Taiwan, 32 years old, and I have been trading stocks for about four years. Currently, my stocks plus cash amount to about 9 million Thai baht. I do not work for any company. I have been traveling around for the past four years, but I can provide proof of my stock trading in Taiwan. I have already made a profit of about 2 million Thai baht in 2024-2025. If I use these conditions, have any friends with similar conditions successfully applied for DTV? Or can someone give me some advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on qualifying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand based on their stock trading income from Taiwan, amounting to 9 million Thai baht in stocks plus cash and an additional profit of 2 million baht in 2024-2025. Apply for the Thai Privilege Visa, gives you 5, 10 or 20 years in Thailand.

You will have to provide 2 years tax returns to show income and tax paid on your gains and dividends.

Thank you for your reply. I have prepared all the necessary documents, but I am not sure if the Thai government has defined me as a remote worker. Although my job may seem informal, I still have to do a lot of data collection. I would like to ask if you applied for a DTV visa through a profession similar to mine?

Online investors have been approved for the DTV in London, USA and their posts are in the threads. Not seen any approvals via Taiwan for that though, you should email them and ask. Doing SP and using your investments for the financials is another option.

You don't sound like a remote worker. Said so, you can apply trhu the soft power category.

Thank you for your reply. My information on soft power is not yet complete, but from what I understand, it means I should find a Muay Thai school or a Thai cooking school in Thailand to take classes, right? But I'm really not interested in these; I just want to travel in Thailand. Will it have any impact if I just register but don't actually attend any classes?

Frankly speaking Taiwan is not the friendliest place to get the DTV visa. And add to it your wanting a 5 years DTV visa for your personal investing in the stock market.

What is your passport nation?

Do you have resident status in Taiwan?

Good Luck

Participante anónimo for how long do you want to travel? A multi entry tourism visa (MTEV) might be better for you, then.
