Good evening members

I have a retirement visa

But my son is here on a tourist visa .

I’ve heard of a dependency visa for him so he can stay as he came here 19 March and went straight to immigration.

I have been advised there’s nothing can be done without his birth certificate from the Uk

But obviously the British embassy can’t issue

Is there anyway of extending he’s 23

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's son, currently in Thailand on a tourist visa, is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a dependency visa to stay with his parent who holds a retirement visa. It has been noted that dependency visas for children only apply until age 20, which may complicate the situation as the son is 23 years old. Additionally, there are mentions of visa amnesty and offers from immigration for a VIP visa, which is quite costly.

. The elite visa is one of the few options available to amnestees, but with only 17 days to go, you may be running a bit late. If you're going to exercise this option you need to get onto it NOW

It can be bought any day you just need to send them 1 million baht from overseas account

But expensive

. It is not a one day process. If your son goes onto overstay he will no longer be eligible for the visa. For the rest of his life

He obviously isn't here on a tourist visa entry any more seeing as that is for 60 days so that means he's here on amnesty AND like all amnesty holders he has little or no option other than to wait for the announcement from the government about what amnesty holders need to do

you were told bad info. Your son has NO visa option to stay here as you dependent because that runs out when the child turns 20.
