Does anybody know when the Thai authorities might review / modify the conditions for the DTV visa? Do they usually do that after the 1 year mark?
Maybe someone has experience from other types of visas.
Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa regulations may be reviewed or modified by Thai authorities, but there is no fixed timetable for these changes. The rules can change at any time, with expats noting that additional documents may be requested compared to previous years. Currently, the DTV visa is relatively new, having been launched recently, and it's unclear when or if the Thai government will conduct a formal review of its success. Overall, it is advised to stay updated through official announcements rather than worrying about potential changes.
What you mean? Or better said, what changes would you like or expect to happen?

Why you worrying about future changes it's nonsense to think that. If there are changes they will be advertised in media by government. Just get the visa and enjoy 5 years coming and going. It's like someone asked here what happens after 5 years this is new visa launched last July not even 7 months old yet

Many of the visas have not been updated for years such as the O Retirement and Spouse. Only recently have the BOI Smart Visas been changed and a focus on LTR made. The Privilege/Elite was updated after years too. All of these visas are "Owned" by the Immigration Department (Interior Ministry)in one form or another. The DTV Visa was thought up and is granted by the MFA (Ministry of Foregn Affairs - exterior). Who knows if they will review it. I suppose they will have to do a report on its success or not at some point.
Non-B docs changes are terrible though. Even agents struggle to keep up with the last requirements.

Anonymous participant 690 Good point. There is a lot of abuse of those though with small LTD companies, Thai nominees and "Ghost" employees. Larger companies usually have no issues and agents not required. All done in-house.

Non-B holder speaking... The DTV rules and conditions are as fixed as old visa conditions and requirements, which can change at any time. It is not unusual to be asked for an additional document compared to the previous year, and there is no set timetable for these changes. Keep in mind that the people granting your DTV are not the ones responsible for allowing your entry or extending your stay in the country.

Anonymous participant 690 Good point regarding immigration having the final say. They could tighten up requirements on a whim like they have with Ed and VOL in the past.
I think it depends. Some are grandfathered but not all. Like the other poster mentions they issue guidelines and not strict requirements in many cases. The Retirement "O" renewal is pretty straightforward for example. The Ed visa has in the past been open to discretion leading to refusals for entry. I may be a glass half full guy here but I see the DTV wide open to this. It is why Workaytion might be easier to prove ongoing activity etc longer term without extra costs of paying for more courses/activities. Many retirees have jumped from "O" to DTV. At least with the O you know where you stand and it is said you will be grandfathered in is requirements were to change ie 800k up to 1.5 million needed for example. Whatever happens we do not have Crystal balls and anyboy predicting anything definitively are setting themselves up. Times and context changes. Just look at when they cracked down on Vol and Ed visas. Was it "Big Joke" head of immigration then. Fast forward last week and he was dismissed from police. At kne tkne as a General he was Deputy Police Chief after being Head of Immigration. Everything changes.
The issue is that the policies are vague enough for immigration to enforce stricter entry and extension rules. There are lots of points they can play with: 500k, ongoing activity/work, certified activity, etc.
