What happens if I don't comply with OA/OX visa conditions like insurance and banked money?

Has anyone not complied with the OA/OX visa conditions (insurance/banked money) and had the visa cancelled? I am considering changing from this visa to visa exempt entry (Australian Passport). Would it be possible to make this happen at the point of (airport) entry?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses potential consequences for not complying with OA/OX visa conditions, specifically regarding insurance and banked money. Users highlight that while a visa may not be cancelled for non-compliance, any application for an extension is likely to be denied. Additionally, it is emphasized that entering Thailand with an OA visa without the required insurance may lead to being denied entry, even though there is no strict requirement to carry the banked money to Thailand.

You're going to be in a sticky situation if you arrive with an OA visa in your passport but no insurance. They aren't going to check for money, the embassy already did that and you have no requirement to bring that money to Thailand. But one of the entry requirements is the insurance. They won't let you in without it.

yes, that’s what I thought (although the few times I have entered no check was done). I want to enter under visa except from here on, so am interested in ‘cancelling’ my current visa ..

Visa won't be cancelled, but any extension will be denied

thanks, I am concerned that I would not be able to enter visa exempt while that visa is valid and that being in the kingdom while not complying with the visa conditions could be ‘illegal’.

Whilst your visa remains active that's what you will enter on. If you are on an extension but do not buy a re-entry permit, you can enter on visa exempt basis
