Hi. Been trying to get an Australian holiday visa for my Thai partner for the last two years.
Agent wants pay slips bank details and letters from employer on a monthly basis.
Is this the norm?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for extensive financial documentation, such as pay slips, bank details, and letters from an employer for an Australian holiday visa, is considered normal. Many commenters shared similar experiences, indicating that these requirements are standard to prove income stability and intent to return to Thailand. This practice aims to ensure that applicants have legitimate reasons for returning home after their visit.

Yes the norm , a lot of details required about you ,,& your partner ! ., done for my g/f ,& now wife about 5 times now ,( for the u.k. ).,.
I use the same agency every time , & we / she pass's every time.! .๐
what agency ? My son trying to get visa for his Thai wife to visit UK to meet family..agent they have does not seem to be doing it right ..just keeps asking for different things..they have provided everything required and still waiting
For a visa to the US it's normal, so possibly the same. They want to see that they have a job and good income or savings. A reason for them to return back to Thailand after their trip.
If they're destitute there's a higher chance they are going to work illegally or try to overstay their visa.
