I have my first 0 retirement visa and it comes up for renewal in April 2025. I left Thailand on June 2024 due to medical issues I wasn't sure if I would be returning so I withdraw most of my 800,00 B. I will be returning in late November and I will be re depositing 800,00 back into my bank account. When I go to renew my yearly visa in April 2025 will I be able to renew my retirement visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has concerns about renewing their retirement visa due to withdrawing funds from their bank account, which is a requirement for the visa. The comments emphasize the importance of maintaining the required balance in the bank account for a specified period prior to renewal. Suggestions include consulting with a visa agent and the implications of having broken the financial agreement for the visa.

To the best of my knowledge if the 800k is in the account 3 months prior to renewing then its ok. On the other hand, if you don't have a multiple entry visa, then the visa is null n void and you will have to start all over with the NON-A Visa 90 days n then the 1 year Retirement Visa. THAI Visa Centre very reliable n they even show the 800k for you. Online Now

You may want to consult a visa agent. For a fee, they have ways (I don’t ask how) to make problems like yours go away.

Nope - you've broken your agreement.

if your bank balance dropped below bt400,000 you will have to start over.

The requirements of your extension were as follows:

1) Must keep your account at 800,000 baht for 3 months after you received your extension

2) Your account must never drop below 400,000 baht at any time

For your next extension you must have your account back at 800,000 baht for 2 full months before you apply for your extension.

Part of your application for your next extension will be a 12 month bank statement, and the immigration officer will check your bank statement to see that you maintained the requirements from last year's extension. If you did not, they will deny you applying for a new extension and you will have to leave Thailand and start over with a new non-O visa and extension.

Alternately if you don't want to start over, you'll need to use the services of an agent to bypass the financial requirements.

could he return using his current extension and when it is due for renewal apply for a new non o retirement visa having deposited the 800,000 baht Brandon?
Nick ************
Did you get a reentry stamp before leaving Thailand? If not then your extension is now cancelled anyway. My take on this, and please correct me if I am wrong, would be to apply for a new 90 day non o in your home country and enter Thailand on that. Make your bank account up to

0 baht and then apply for 12cmonth extension with a few days to go on your 90 day.

I got a reentry permit before I departed Thailand I will be coming back to Thailand on November 20th hopefully I will be able to re-enter on that?

@Stuart **********
I would assum his current extension is now invalid whether he got a re entry stamp or not.

@Stuart **********
No. The only option you have when on an extension is to apply for a new extension.
