Just wanted to report on TR60 visa experience at HCMC Royal Thai consulate today. They are super strict with the requirements. Need absolutely everything.

- Hotel bookings for EVERY SINGLE 60 days you stay in Thailand

- Flight bookings for into and out of Thailand within 60 days

- 6 months worth of bank statements printed out. I found out that the Thai book bank simply will not work.

- The photo they tell you should be 4x6cm but the form actually asks for 4.5x3.5cm (but both seem to work)

- and yes the America dollar bills must be crisp, pristine and fresh!

And yes there is a nearby printing shop which will help you print the paper and make your pockets a bit lighter as well.

Too bad the actual visa service is operating out of a twenty foot shipping container. Super hot there and no fan. Not sure if this is just a temporary thing.

I just have a small question. I booked the 60 days accomodation in thailand and it got free cancellation before November 1. Would it be safe to cancel the accomodation now, since the consulate staff already have my paper documents? Or should I wait until after I pick up my visa in a few days?

Hanoi is pretty much the same.

Website doesn't state FULL 6 months but they insist on all when you are there. This catches out most and they direct you to a small printers a couple of hundred meters away.

They aren't as fussy with crisp bills in my experience.

"Would it be safe to cancel the accomodation now, since the consulate staff already have my paper documents? Or should I wait until after I pick up my visa in a few days?"

I'd wait. Better still, I wouldn't post about it on the internet if my facebook name matches my passport.

Am I missing something? In which country are you applying? TR60 visa? Is that a tourist visa? Thanks

Thank you for the detailed update. That is good information.

You'd better wait until your SETV is issued and the sticker is put on your passport to change any of your itinerary. The possibility still is not zero that they wouldn't issue your SETV for some reason. And you wouldn't know until you get your passport back.
