Should I get a METV or a DTV for an 8 months stay in Thailand with multiple border runs?

Planning to stay in Thailand from September until April. Around 8 months. I plan to leave the country during this period a few times for short visits in other countrys. I spent already 30 days and 75 day this year in the country on visa exempt. Do you recommend the METV? Could that cause any issues?. Or should I better go for a DTV. Was never questioned before at immigration.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning an 8-month stay in Thailand and has already used 30 and 75 days under visa exemption this year. They are considering a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) or a Non-Immigrant Visa type D (DTV) due to their travel plans which include leaving Thailand multiple times. Comments suggest obtaining a visa for peace of mind.

if you’re only being tourist go for the METV

If you have the necessary ฿500k Baht required and the time to take a soft DTV course (cooking, Muay Thai etc) then go for the DTV…pro you get 5 years out of it

It’s up to you and what you want out of your time and visa
