As an Australian, can i get a 45 day waiver on reentry at Chiang Kong? I am planning to do a border run to Laos in early January from Chiang Mai at Chiang Kong. I arrived in Chiang Mai on November 1st. I have a 45 day waiver which I hope to get extended by 30 days in December. Does anyone know if i can get another 45 day waiver at Chiang Kong, or is it only 30 days?
As it's the 1st of October*, I'm interested to hear if anyone has been given a 45-day visa exemption stamp yet. (From one of the 53 countries eligible for a visa exemption.)
Also has the change been published in the Royal Gazette yet? Can we trust that all Thai borders will be issuing the 45-day visa exemption?
And lastly, is it a fact that Russians are not eligible for the 45-day visa exemption stamp, given that Russia is a visa waiver country? (I’m not Russian, I’m asking for someone else.)
*EDIT: OK, so it's not the 1st of October, it's the 30th of September. I'm just waiting impatiently in Malaysia. Nonetheless, tomorrow, if you get in with a 45-day stamp, please can you post on this page?
We're traveling from the US to Thailand next month, and plan to partake of the VISA on arrival for the new 45-day period. Do we need to have VISA/Passport style photographs available when we arrive, or when we apply later for the 30-day extension? If so, what size exactly do they need to be? Matte or glossy? I had photos prepared to submit for a tourist VISA but we've opted to not go this route. I want to have the photos pre-printed so we're ready to go if we need them.
Hi, I’ve entered thailand on a regular 30 day visa on arrival, which expires 8th October (AU passport). Looking at the recent news, is it right that if I wait until 1st October to do my extension, I will be granted a 45 day, not 30 day extension?
