We're traveling from the US to Thailand next month, and plan to partake of the VISA on arrival for the new 45-day period. Do we need to have VISA/Passport style photographs available when we arrive, or when we apply later for the 30-day extension? If so, what size exactly do they need to be? Matte or glossy? I had photos prepared to submit for a tourist VISA but we've opted to not go this route. I want to have the photos pre-printed so we're ready to go if we need them.
TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers from the US to Thailand don't need to obtain a visa before arrival, as they receive a 45-day visa exemption. Regarding photos, for a 30-day extension application at an immigration office, 4x6 cm photos are required. The finish of the photos (matte or glossy) is not important. It is advisable to bring previously prepared tourist visa photos, as a photo shop is commonly available near immigration offices.
