Hey folks, I have a question regarding a 45-day visa exemption transfer to new passport:

I entered Thailand with a 45-day visa exemption, and I am getting a new passport here in BKK as my old one is full.

* What other document are required for a stamp transfer?

* Do I need to get a confirmation letter from my embassy (as they suggested)? Or can I just go immigration with my 2 passports?

* I am planning to go to immigration for both the transfer and the 30-day extension at the same time. Or should I do it separately?

* And lastly, will I have more chance and less hassle if I do it in Phuket than in Bangkok?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transferring their 45-day visa exemption to a new passport, specifically asking about required documents, embassy confirmation, and the procedure for doing this alongside a 30-day extension. Community responses suggest that a confirmation letter from the embassy is advisable but not strictly necessary, as both passports will suffice to show past stamps. Additionally, some users recommend handling the process in Phuket for potentially better experiences compared to Bangkok.

No, you just need both passports to show past stamps and they will just give new stamp.

Id do it in phiket, reason mgr at the 30 day extension IT square is as friendly as a tasmanian devil not been fed for 30 days and as helpful as a ashtray on a motorbike

Your embassy should give you that letter without you even asking, but generally you do need it.

Pretty sure you can do them at the same time.
