Do NOT use an agent. You can do everything yourself. If you’re retired and make over 65k (Bhat) a month. You don’t need 800 or 400k in a bank account. You just need proof with a notarized letter from your embassy to verify your monthly income.

That’s what I did.

Dave. Here’s what I did.

I came last February on a 30 day stamp. In March I went to Laos for two nights. I came back and a day later they closed the borders.

I then went on amnesty until September. I didn’t know that they would extend the amnesty which they did two days after the deadline (sept 26) I certainly didn’t want to go back to Canada. I felt safer here.

I didn’t listen to other people and went to an agent. I got a 90 day volunteer visa for 17k. As the 90 days was about to expire. I went to immigration myself and applied for a retirement visa. They told me that there was no problem BUT they wanted the same amount that I paid agent. Even though it was the same immigration office.

I’m retired. Since I make over 65k a month I don’t need 800k in bank account. The only thing that I had to do was go to my embassy and get a notarized letter for proof of my monthly income.

I don’t have a bank account here. There’s no need to have 400 or 800 k in an account.

The only advice I can give you is under no circumstances use an agent. Do everything on your own.

I used a visa service for a 90 day non o. Volunteer I believe. In Khon Kean. I then went to Khon Kean immigration to apply for a retirement visa. No problem getting one but they want the same amount of money I paid agent. Next year it will be regular price. I don’t need to have 800k in bank as I make over 65k a month. I just needed verification from my embassy.

It’s actually very easy to do it yourself. My advice is to stay away from visa agents.

I didn’t need that. I make more than 65k a month Thai Bhat. Did not need 800 k just proof of my pension verified by Canadian Embassy.

. Ok I’ll look into it. Should I do the 60 day first then the retirement visa when that’s about to expire? Or are you talking about non o first? I got a non o in September but it expires December 22.
