If I get an extension letter from the Canadian Embassy via email. Does it have to be printed out for immigration? Or will they accept the email format.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the comments suggests that you should print out the extension letter you receive via email from the Canadian Embassy for submission to Thai immigration. Users emphasize that Thai authorities prefer physical paperwork, noting that an email format may not be accepted. Some users shared their experiences regarding the difficulty in obtaining such letters from Canada during the pandemic, highlighting the importance of having official documentation printed.

takes too long to get letter sent. But have email addressed to us so if there are any issues will show then the email from embassy an if that fails I will ring them an Hand phone over. They have put their details on the letter and advised that if they need confirmation they can call. So we will see how that goes.

Yes, this is a no brainer for me. I would definitely go to an Internet shop, there is one near Taipei gate, and get a print out. Thais are notorious for liking a lot of paperwork

Er, it’s a LETTER, what do you think? 😀

Surely you know how much Thais like paperwork and the more the better?

Where can we get embassy letters printed. We rang and got ours emailed within 5 minutes from embassy (New Zealand) but don’t have a printer.

having a printer here right now is gold hahaha... I get it! Wish I had one, but I know a place in Nathon and Maenam has a shop for using computers and printers close to immigration office on ring road. Good luck

Yeah, any print shop, black n white will do. EDIT - Colour! I remember now after reading a post above

I would really like to know too if Canada is providing this letter for covid is not under control, and I can't do the quaranteen at my parents home as it's a law that you can't do it with ppl over 65 years old... This is Ontario

I really don't want to stay longer but in my special case, it's safer and about the human rights in my real home of hk!

At this stage the following embassies are NOT issuing letters: Britain, Canada, Germany, Italy, Australia and US. They have all reiterated they want their citizens to go home

Go home to an unsafe country. They should extend amnesty on humanitarian grounds.

. You'd expect a military junta to offer a safe haven on humanitarian grounds? Ok.

So I could also try the hk consulate

I don't know if this gives MD any extra leverage, but I have PM in Hong Kong, not Canadian resident... And hk is having a brutal 3rd wave of covid, along with political instability... I need to stay for humanitarian reasons

Thank you

the response i received and posted above was from this morning. Canadian embassy not providing letters. You should absolutely write the address Werner posted above, but expect same response. We are on our own :)

@Kimb****
totally agree. Our embassy seems as lost as we are lol. I have no intention of returning so just waiting for clarification of post amnesty status from Thai government. All we can do :)

You have to leave country for retirement visa, for first one, and may not be let back in
