fair enough, I just opened one last November and at that time they stated they were the only bank that would open an account for a "tourist" provided there was 30 day remaining.
it's not difficult. It's easier to apply for the evisa than to have to interupt your holiday to go to immigration for an extension, and it's sliggtly more expensive. You may also need a TM30 for your extension which is more paperwork, more time and possibly more money
As mentioned, it's was done last week trouble free. But I think it'll depend on. What visa you have, if any. From what I've read, if your leaving to return without a visa and wanting to enter visa exempt, then it can be difficult as they apparently want all the proof. The ฿20k, the departure ticket, the boarding for the full term
There is no 30 day visa on entry. There is a 30 day visa exempt entry, all you need is passport and possibly need to show an onward/return ticket at check in
yes, but the 400k mentioned is the figure relevant to a retirement visa as the minimum for the 7 months in between the months where 800k is the minimum
the balance for retirement visa cannot fall below 400k in the months when 800k is not required. So, the 2 months before and 3 months after require 800k, the other months the balance can drop below 800k but must stay 400k or above
