Ok, so i went to Jomtien Immigration for an extension on Thursday 23rd as I was stamped in until February 1st. Then I was told to come back the following week. So today, I arrived at immigration at 10:35 and was pleased to see it wasn't busy. Paperwork checked but told to come back tomorrow that they open at 8am. Is there a requirement to go first thing in the morning?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user visited Jomtien Immigration for a visa extension and was instructed to return the following day at 8 AM for pickup. Comments clarified that while it's advisable to go early for important matters, the passport could be picked up any time during the working day, depending on the office's status.

Probably just met their daily quota already or reduced staff due to CNY. Who knows. They make it up as they go sometimes. All you Can do is do what you were told to do...😁

Your passport with the extension stamped in it will be available from 8:00 am tomorrow morning. You can go anytime during the working day to pick it up.

i didn't even get into the queue to hand over my passport, simply told to return tomorrow and that it opens at 8am πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@Stephen *******
WOW... so you weren't able to apply and told to return the next day.

yes. I understand being told on the 23rd to return the following week as it was outside the 7 days remaining. But the way I understood what happened today was that I arrived too late to apply today πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ never heard of that before

@Stephen *******
were you applying for the 30 days extension of stay and had entered Thailand as Visa Exempt Entry?

yes, visa exempt stamp expiring on February 1 and applying for the 30 day extension. I know it just gotta do what they say, was more querying here to see if anyone else had experienced going at 10:25 and basically being told to return the following day implying 10:25 was too late

@Stephen *******
they monitor their workload daily. Will accept extension application during the final 7 days of your current ending date.

You were within 7 days...

No explanation other than return tomorrow.

Pattaya Jomtien Thai Immigration office does have an appointment website.
