 because after 6-9 months you are not looking as tourist. So any officer can ask why you enter again without visa and deny. Only protected entries under borderruns and green corridors will be safe with extended living in Thailand under visa exemptions. Because visa exemption is for short trips, not years 😁

 no. Extension can be received only inside, and extension is possible but not guaranteed. Visa exemption is 1-60 days only.
