 Not completely wrong for your information. If your arriving visa exemption not applied for visa then you would not know what they embassy ask for when applying for a visa because you not applied for a visa.

 maybe they lied took your money and did not even apply. They should be able to provide email evidence of application and also rejection

 Maybe you have history of staying in Thailand they dont like but normally they dont communicate with immigration so I tend to think your agents stuffed up and did not submit correct paperwork
