it's important to understand what a vaccine can do.
the two that appear to be the best so far - BioNTech, produced by Pfizer & Moderna - confer 95%-94% immunity, respectively. What immunity means here is that if you contract the virus there is approximately a 95% chance that your symptoms will be mild.
The virus will still be in your body.
It is just not likely to be able to spread to enough of your cells to make you seriously ill in the moment.
We don't know yet if you can still suffer long term damage.
We don't know yet if this will reduce your ability to spread the virus, although it seems reasonable that it could.
The vaccines are only one tool to help limit the spread of the virus. You will still need to take precautions - wear a mask, social distance, practice good hand sanitization. Countries will still need to enforce quarantines to limit the spread.
That could all change if we find that vaccinated people don't spread the virus. We don't know yet.
I have used Thai Visa Centre for a couple of years.
Extension for an O-A with insurance last month was 14,000 baht
I highly recommend them if you don't want to deal with it yourself.
I was initially concerned that their extensions might not be valid. The process seemed too easy.
But I have been in and out of Thailand, stranded in the US, received a COE from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington DC and am now back in Bangkok having finished quarantine and had no trouble anywhere in the processes.
To me it's just a question of how you want to spend your time. It's almost always cheaper to do it yourself - I have found plumbing to be an exception to that rule.
