What is the experience of a US expat with visa exemptions and border runs in Thailand?

So basically a brief summary is you only visit Thailand for two months and then you go back to your home country for six months before returning. And you are totally fine with immigration every time.

What are the new visa exemption restrictions for entering Thailand?

Any idea on how they might handle people on a 6 mo METV? I’ve read on this forum that some have had trouble on their 3rd entry. I was hoping to do a 60 + 30ext and then another 60 +30 extension for my 180 days.

But now extending is not guaranteed. So would possibly need to do a 60 + 60 + 60.
