Why does my income letter need verification by MOFA after being issued by my embassy in Thailand?

I'm guessing (and got it confirmed in the comments) that you are using the office in Pattaya for an in-country non-immigrant visa.

They do, for some reason, require the income letter to be legalised by the MFA.

They do NOT have this requirement for extension of stay.

, 30 days (45 in some offices) and some may want you to come the last week.

You will not lose any days, because you are not changing extensions. You get your first one.

In other words it starts when your entry stamp expires.
