Asking because our situation is *very* similar. Three small kids (will overstay), wife doesn’t want to be in Jakarta (would rather be in Bali or KL) etc.

Worried that if I take her passport to Jakarta, but they need her for something, then she’ll be unable to travel to me.

I hope that’s the case! So many other embassies are requiring 3-6 months in the account.

my fault! Not sure why I read your post as you guys already being in Thailand (and your husband traveling to Jakarta). As someone with young kids at home, thanks for the post!

Also, any requirement for how long the money needs to have been in an account?

Once you get approved, will you have to leave the country again, or how will your visa get recognized by the immigration officers?
