another fact. Others have mentioned that when we are applying for our ANNUAL VISA EXTENSION, we need that bank letter showing our monthly INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS some banks take weeks. In the last years, I must go downtown to the main KASIKORN office and that letter is produced in about 30 minutes, never longer.

WISE is getting worse. Different people there give different responses. Also, I keep asking them how can they tell me my TRANSFER will take X number of days when I haven’t selected my METHOD OF PAYMENT yet, plus last 2 transfers, a few days later they send me an EMAIL stating my money will arrive with them in 3 days and I say, after talking with both banks, I use, that is BS.

yes but you might want to read the information on the Thailand Immigration website plus many people mention the 800,000 THB bank balance which must be in the bank for about 3 months prior to visa extension and 3 months after, and NEVER drop below 400,000. I guess many do not read those 2 paragraphs separated by “OR” which is the second option I chose where that 800,000 is not a requirement. I arrived with VISA already as a NON O with another letter I do not remember but the important point here is with that VISA, which they call a “retirement visa” my THB DEPOSIT requirement was for a minimum of 65,000 THB INTERNATIONALLY TRANSFERRED to my THAI BANK ACCOUNT MONTHLY, and there is no restriction for BALANCE. If you decide to marry a Thai woman, then after all of that process that amount drops to 54,000 THB per month. What I believe also is a requirement is those money sources in your country must be PENSIONS, not savings or income. Sorry, it has been 4 years and these rules are still in existence. So PENSION MONEY SOURCE, and 65,000 THB PER MONTH on that type of VISA. Yes, talk with Thai Immigration for any updates.

Do not ship wood furniture.

Mark Everything USED on every item in your inventory. If you purchase anything electronic remember it is 220volts here. Take a picture of everything shown in the top of your shipping boxes before they close it. Bury your expensive items deep in the shipping boxes.

That LIMIT is established by certain banks, NOT WISE.

I do not have that limitation with KASIKORN bank.

Who is that stupid to want that?

I seriously doubt it.

When I arrived in Thailand, I ‘almost’ got NISSAN to finance my new NISSAN but they wanted the loan paid off in 1 year. Not quite the financing I was hoping for. I ended up paying CASH for my new car.
