I have heard that Cambodia's infrastructure and accommodation's are about 20 year's behind the surrounding areas. I don't know, just what I have heard.

yes, example from the U.S.

a bank in the U.S. can close your account and keep your money. Banks are allowed to close accounts for various reasons, including inactivity, negative balances, or suspected fraudulent activity. If your account is closed, the bank is required to return any remaining funds to you, typically in the form of a check. However, if the closure is due to concerns about illegal activity, the bank may hold the funds until further investigation. It's important to note that while a bank can close your account, they are not required to notify you of the closure. I'm thinking this is why Bangkok Bank is doing it, they suspect fraudulent activity from the countries they are targeting.

it's pretty much been across the board with all the banks since early 2025 that you had to have a long stay visa to open an account. To the point even agents were being shut down from assisting account openings in Bangkok and Pattaya.

come in on a 90-day non-o visa and you have the necessary visa to open a bank account to get your one-year extension of stay. You can show proof of funds from your home country for the 90-day non-o visa.

you elite prices are very outdated. It's 900k for a 5 year and a 20 year is 5 million baht and invitation only.

Bangkok bank told me the same thing. The SI Chiang Mai office told me I had to live in the house for 6 months to get on the yellow book. Can't win. Kasikorn did open one with 90 day non-o, Thai driver's license and tm 30 with an additional paper acknowledging long stay visa. Good luck to you, sir.

same as Nong Khai. No CoR on the 90 day non-o. Bangkok bank in Tha Bo said I needed yellow book which I don't have and they denied me. Kbank in Tha Bo did the account with passport, 90 day photocopy, driver's license and tm30 receipt from immigration. Took a few phone to the higher ups as the Evisa was new to them.
