It’s a Thailand requirement vs each individual providence. Also, it’s the housemasters requirement, not the foreigner but if the foreigner looks to extend then it becomes the foreigners problem.
I also got stamped 1-month when it should had been 1-year.
Note: I just got done with a 24-hour flight and assumed immigration was going to correctly stamp my passport. No concern, I went to my local immigration for 24-hour reporting and they “amended” my passports Thai entry stamp.
