You need to apply on line, need to show 3 months bank statement of 18k or more in a uk bank account, the cost for the non o visa is £60. When you arrive in Thailand use an agent, they will do everything for you, much easier.

A Thai phone contract, I took out one for 6 months, a lease agreement, passport, I paid 300baht for the ATM card and the customer service lady downloaded the app on my phone for me.

I’ve just got the non o visa from the uk and didn’t need to take out insurance, 3 months bank statements to show over £18,000, a recent photo and a copy of your passport also date you arrive in Thailand, I applied in the UK on line cost was £60 you have to upload your documents in pdf format, I got it back within a week, arrived in Thailand 90 day stamp, now I can open a bank account and use an agent to get my retirement visa.

Try Hua Hin, it’s only 4 hours from Bangkok, got a large ex Pat community, so friendly, lots to do, has its own micro climate, cheap good accommodation, beautiful beach, been living here since September 2024, love it and I feel very safe living there.
