I came to Thailand on a 30 day no visa and did a 30 day extension and one fly out and returned. I used the 90 days to get the 90 days visa and 12 months retirement extension and got all the boxes filled. It’s not a hard process to do yourself.
You really want to enter the kingdom with 90 days on your visa in order to obtain a lease on a property, open a bank account and apply for your 12 month extension. The bank account is the main concern if you are considering retirement here
correct and tm47 is only for long term visas. The first 90 report needs to be done in person ( correct me if it has changed), register after that and report online free of charge. I just did my last three reports tm47 online and all were approved within two hours and a copy is emailed, you are required to print a copy and keep with your passport. I have never been asked for my passport unless we are travelling and checking into a hotel.
l live in a village in lsan. I on retirement visa and do my tm47 online and when we travel the tm30 is done by the hotels we stay at, when we return to the village we do the tm30 for our home address. It is not hard to do.
no l change my phone number two months ago when the bank gave me notice and l linked my phone number and account to my bank account. I was getting ready to travel from Isan to Jomtien tomorrow but Bangkok Bank must be conducting reviews of ligament account holders and removed the block on my account. I have a long term visa.
they don’t notify me about closing my account, l went to the village store and my scan was rejected. I tried transferring money to my wife’s bank and was rejected. I when to nearest bank and they informed me of the situation. They informed me about the requirements to put my phone number in my name that matches my bank account, it was a notification on the bank app in regards to my phone number.
Bangkok bank informed me that my phone number had to be under my name. My Thai wife just added my number on her account. I had to go to my phone provider and change the mobile number into my name.
I was on a 90 day visa when l first opened my account years ago. Bangkok Bank informed me l need to report with a long term visa which I have. They will copy current visa and reopen my account. I was informed that Bangkok Bank branches are privately owned and branches will deal with other branches when it comes to solving issues with accounts
