Thanks for your advice, I have only typically visited Thailand once per calendar year, except for last year, when I came twice, including the instance mentioned. But my understanding was that because I was exiting in the following year, I would still obtain a 30 days extension. I did indeed appeal to the more senior officer on duty , but she also said that I was only entitled to a 7 days extension.

I have taken your advice and posted this matter separately - thanks.

On a completely different matter, when I arrived at Suvanabhumi Airport on

/2025, I was given a 60 days visa exemption stamp and assured that this could be extended by another 30 days. Today,

/2026, I went to Korat Immigration office, to be told that there has since been a change in that policy - and now only a SEVEN days extension is granted ! As my return flight to Europe is on

/2026, I will have to leave Thailand on

, probably into Laos and obtain another entry stamp - but the Immigration Officer was not sure for what period that will be given ! If it's only going to be for another 7 days, then I could be facing a substantial penalty on finally exiting the country ! Anyone had any similar experience and know for what period a new entry stamp is granted ??
