And therein is one of the problems. The legislation is silent on this matter. Which means a retiree with 80k gross, which could be as low as $55k, could be supporting a spouse, and teenage children, paying alimony to ex and children, have mountains of debt, court orders etc and still meet the needs for the LTR WP Visa!

Passports are linked. Even if one has two different country passports, they know. The worlds immigration authorities are not stupid.

If the e-visa is a new sticky label they attach to your passport, be warned that Bangkok Bank have not updated their branch procedure manuals and will probably not accept it as a valid visa for opening an account. Had all sorts of problems with this, only this week. Be persistent. You may have to get a separate Immigration letter to open the bank account.

Cilene, may I ask which branch of BKK you visited as each branch appears to have different 'rules' depending on how much they think they can charge you. I was quoted 16,500 bht only this week, which I declined.
