But if everything is above board, is it just the hassle supplying extra documents that puts most people off? When you say more and more documents, could you please elaborate? Do you know what extra documents are required when applying for an extension based on marriage? I understand that various photos are required, and home visits. I think that's pretty normal in most western countries. I've read that people are often asked to draw a map of the area local to their home, I find that a little odd. Do you think marriage extensions are scrutinized more to discourage applicants and are looking for reasons to deny? I'm interested to know peoples experience, good and bad.

Genuine question. Why are so many people set against the visa through marriage? I've read that so many people either choose the, "retirement visa" (even though they are married to a Thai) or at some point, switch to it saying it's easier and much less hassle. I understand if some people are in a failing marriage or not fully trusting their spouse it makes sense, but if everything is hunky dory what's the issue? If you are in a solid marriage why wouldn't you opt for the visa based on that? Is it that difficult to get?

Scooter Max There are many retail outlets that stock toilet paper including
****
which can usually be found in most towns. If you live near a Big C or Lotus i suggest giving them a try. If you are housebound or have mobility issues you can try Lazada or maybe Shoppee. If you are stuck, I can lend you a couple of sheets till next week. I would avoid people until you get some. Nobody wants to smell the sh!t on mouth if you don’t have tissue to wipe after what comes out of it. Hope that helps mate.

Does anyone know how to get a visa? I don’t want a crap one, I want the best one. How much does it cost? Will I have to go to immigration or can someone just send one to me? I have money in the bank, but I don’t want to tell anyone how much I have. Too many scammers. How many banks are there in Thailand? Where are they? Can I open an account in Thailand with a bus pass and post office savings book? If the answer is yes, I’ll get a bus pass next week. Want to know in advance so I don’t waste my time and money on it if it’s not acceptable. Sorry for all the questions, I don’t know how to use google and I want to be prepared in advance. Also, i figured most people on here would be happy to do the groundwork for me. That way i have more time to relax and dream about what I’ll do when i get there. Please, only helpful answers. No nasty comments or sarcasm permitted. What time is it in Thailand now?

I think he has already received a fair amount of advice. Good and bad. I said 20% wasn’t drivel, what more do you want? And no, I don’t believe I missed your point, spectacularly or otherwise. Your point was wrapped up in copious amounts of condescending, unhelpful, smug drivel. All the doom and gloom comments about suicide were in my opinion, uncalled for. And it is just my opinion. If you feel you have given good advice, that’s ok too. That’s your opinion. Have a good day.

do you have a side job as a motivational speaker? Mentioning suicide as an option, (twice) is a pretty shitty thing to do. Just makes you sound smug, arrogant and thoughtless. In my opinion, 80% of what you said is just drivel and not at all helpful to him.

Those are pretty random sentences. Maybe you want to take a breath and start again?
