You stated that your visa is multiple entry valid until November 2018. That means you can enter Thailand as many times as you want until that date, and every time you enter you will receive a permission of stay 90 days.
Since you are on a visa and not an extension of stay, you cannot get an uninterrupted stay in Thailand. When the 90 days are over you have to exit Thailand and reenter.
Should you wish to have a continuous stay in Thailand, your employer is likely correct in saying that Immigration will extend your permission of stay only 3 months at a time, and every time you extend you will have to pay 1,900 baht.
If you choose this route, and you have a continuous stay in Thailand of more than 90 days, you will have to do a 90 day report.
Yeah ok. So what Chaengwatthana told her is correct. Should she wish to extend her 90 day permission of stay she can do that one month before her current permission of stay expires, and if she chose that route she would have to do a 90 day report (because she hasn't left the country for more than 90 days).
What her employer told her is also likely correct, that Immigration will only give 3 month extensions.
Tod Daniels what she is saying is that she cannot get a 12 month extension at local Immigration on her permission of stay and they are willing to give only 3 month extensions at a time.
Note that most likely on your third SETV from Vientiane, you will get a red stamp on your visa sticker, stating that you travel frequently under a tourist visa and you may be denied another one in the future. Once you have that red stamp, you will be denied by Vientiane and possibly some other Consulates.
Citizens of South Africa will receive a 30 day permission of stay upon entering Thailand under the Visa Exemption Rule, regardless whether they enter via an International Airport or a land border.
The 30 day permission of stay can be extended at local Immigration for another 30 days at a cost of 1,900 baht.
When entering via a land border, there is a limit of 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year. There is no limit when flying in.
Jason Stone I'm not telling you what to do, i'm advising people that there is a risk to that particular structure, as long as they are comfortable with the risk of losing what they don't really own, they can go ahead with it. Yes, people made profits with this structure.
It does not affect you anymore though, as you said you're out.
Jason Stone companies that have a structure of minimum 51% thai spread around people that don't know each other and have presigned their resignation letters, which is something they are aware of already, and has been cracked down in some cases.
There is a real possibility to encounter issues nowadays with this structure.
Phil Bliss No you don't have to extend. Unless you apply too late and need more time for the actual process. The conversion from a tourist visa to a non O visa costs 2,000 baht. Visas don't just transform themselves.
