How can I successfully obtain three consecutive SETV visas from Phnom Penh through an agent?

In light of a recent post for a voided ThaiVisa in Phom Pehn, I need specific advice from members with real experiences via agent only (not walk ins).

Has anybody succesfully obtained 3 consecutive SETVs from PP?

I will mention that on this passport, I have 3 so far, one from Europe plus 2 consecutive from PP.

I do know the lottery, but I do wish for convenience reasons to hit it for a 3rd time in a row, with a bank statement at levels that would qualify me for retirement if i was 50.

I need some input from members with 3 or 4 consecutive from PP via agent, if any.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice from others who have successfully obtained three consecutive SETVs through an agent in Phnom Penh. They specify their experience of obtaining two consecutive visas and express their concerns regarding the limits imposed on consecutive visa applications. The ensuing comments provide a mix of shared experiences, discouragement due to a maximum limit of three SETVs, and discussions on the importance of presenting proof of funds and other required documents for a successful application.

Maxim Thibodeau In my mind the way I am prioritising is SETV. METV is second. ED is third. I have thought about METV in Australia and would take that over ED. Unfortunately my nationality does not qualify me for a visa exempt entry. The METV back home is also hard to get due to a bitchy corrupt employee combined with lack of local proof of employment. But being part of the EU, I understand there could be some viable options at some honorary consulates in Germany for example, that are less demanding. But yeah, Australia is on the list of options. Flights are 15K onwards return I believe with a bit of planning on low cost airlines.
Maxim ***********
Or just a visa exempt entry, this way you go to whatever country u want, nice little vacation.
Maxim ***********
Or the Ed Visa if u want to learn thai, seem a good excuse to do so. If u ever fall in love and want to invest here it will help u a lot.
Luke ******

@Maxim **********
Thought about that, I am currently weighing that option. That's a very good suggestion by the way.
Maxim ***********
What about getting a METV in Perth or Melbourne? (only place you can do it appart from ur country of origin).
Luke ******

No. Phnom Pehn can theoretically issue 50 visas in a row should they wish to do so. Japan is very strict and sticks to the residency requirement as far as I understand.

Yes but u seem up to try impossible type of challenge.

If you like to refer to another post or comment that you know the details read the post. That perosn first said that all three proofs are done, 10 minutes later he is still waiting on his rental agreement from his landlord. And he repeats that even later, that he is stil waiting. Sorry but waiting on your rental agreement after you got denied a Visa is for me not having proof of accommodation on appliying for that visa.

I do believe that going via agent is just how things are done in Cambodia. I also believe that Embassy officials are corrupt there and get a small cut from the agent. Since most of the applicants are going via agent, my understanding is there is rarely a farang going by his own, but when there is, that person's application is looked upon more strictly or subjectively.

The OP of the other post went on his own. I believe that to have been a mistake. He should have paid the 10 extra dollars to an agent.
Maxim ***********
You are totally right about this one. Although I will say that proof of funds is the one that they care the most about. Went I got denied in april 2018 (before re-trying with agent), lady told me the bank statement is the one she care about and won't even take my passport to try without it. She didn't seem to care about address saying anyone can book a hotel for a week or wtv.

Maxim ***********
Robert A. Piccus Yes Laos is close second imo, both french influence. I'm french canadian, tons of France influence where i'm from so i feel like home with the foods in both countries. But PP have more choice overall. I love Indian and Mexican food, outstanding in PP, not many choice In Laos.
Maxim ***********
Steve Greir I've been everywhere except Hong Kong and Singapore. Phnom Penh have imo the best farang food but also the worse local food in SEA. It's really hard for ex to find bread quality like the french one they have everywhere in PP.

On opposite Thailand have the best local food imo in SEA (Chiang Mai #1 in Thailand), but bad farang food overall due to the poor quality of bread and other which make the burger, pizza, sandwich, etc, overall, bad quality. Not to say that some place are not amazing, but i'm talking *in general*. The milk is also REALLY bad in Thailand.

Tbh I also think Vientiane have amazing farang food, again, french influence. But PP have more choice.

We are off topic but I feel like this thread is gonna be shut down any moment anyways.
Robert ********
@Maxim **********
, you sir are preaching to the choir... I am well aware that PP is a shit hole and I honestly prefer the French Food and Everything else in Luang Prabang and other cities in Laos, where I have been visiting for over 30 years! Thank you ^_^

Maxim Thibodeau No i don't do crypto but some of the people here that throw vicious comments about a Thai bank balance that is in the hundreds of K rather than tens of K must feel rich hitting the minimum 800K for retirement.

For a bloody 20K minimum SETV yes it is fat.

PP is a shithole, staying there too long will drive anyone crazy. The farang food there tho is the best in South East Asia (by far). French influence... no surprise.
Maxim ***********
@Steve ******
Not true, u can get denied in PP with the 3 proof of. I live in Cambodia april 2017 to april 2018, people told their experience all the time.
Luke ******

@Maxim **********
All right I see people are starting to make fun of this "fat" terminology. It's fat in the terms of appying for a tourist visa.

In reference to the 3 proof, I have done it last time with 2 proof, as I said before. The agent would not take the proof of accomodation, said it's not needed.
Maxim ***********
Luke Thomas Just say the truth you have crypto... I lost more then 100k usd in crypto this year, and i'm still breathing. You talk like a crypto trader, lol (or poker player), or both.
Maxim ***********
@Luke *******
Your fat bank balance won't help or break you, if u have 1k or 100k usd the odds of getting denied is exactly the same. They only care about how long u have been in Thailand, the 3 *proof of* (especially 1k bank balance of at least 1 month old), and to a certain extend visa run in a row in PP (3 usually the magic number).

You will lose nothing by trying, ask agent that u will pay him when he succeed, I told him I will throw extra $10 after if he succeed, still got denied and he was a reputable agent riverside.
Luke ******
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Robert ***********
From a visa perspective it probably would, but there are other factors to be looked at.
Maxim ***********
@Kevin *********
Border will not denied you entry if u have a tourist visa, but they might denied you a visa exempt entry (especially Poipet). By air Don Mueang is a headache, even with tourist visa.

The difficulty in PP is to get the tourist visa, not to get back into Thailand (assuming u avoid Poipet and Don Mueang).

The reason the account balance is fat is because I was smart enough to keep it that way and not pay the Thai government 500K or 1M baht to allow me to breathe Thai air.

@Luke *******
, if you have such a fat bank balance, you should go with the Elite visa. Costs Bt. 270/day or less and the perks are fantastic....not to mention the peace of mind.

@Steve ******
That's your opinion. My opinion is that it shows sufficient income for me not to work locally (which I don't anyway), combined with plenty of reentry permits on those SETVs because I actually do travel in and out for longer periods and not only for the purpose of visa runs.

My partner in Cambodia confirmed that Embassy voided a lot of visa, especially Cambodian who applied multiple times for Tourist. MOU are OK. If OP can, go another place. If you qualify and can show money apply in HCMC, Hanoi or Savannakhet.
Amornrat **********
Please do not spread wrong info, there is no such law or restriction.

I just reread that thread. He was denied for spending too long in Thailand and attempting a 4th Visa. He had all the proofs.
Maxim ***********
I got denied earlier this year (april) with a agent in PP, but I didn't have the bank statement. Agent took a picture of me holding 2k usd in cash and when to embassy, next day he call saying he try but didn't work out. No scam here as it didn't cost me any $. That guy was a well known agent riverside, not any random newb. I don't know if it would have work with the bank statement, but I know that the agent mention my short overstay as a cause of denial. So maybe I was fuck anyways.
Maxim ***********
@Luke *******
The number of time u apply in a row in PP don't matter. I've live in Cambodia for a year (april 2017 to april 2018) and I spoke to a lot of foreigner in both PP and Kampot. And they all said the same thing about *hit or miss* in PP, even with all 3 *proof of*.

The most important factor is how long u have stay in Thailand for, not how many consecutive visa u try to do in a row. Although they go together... if u try 3 time in a row it mean u already stay in Thailand for long time. So it's 2 strike against you. If you stay long time but it's ur first time applying in Phnom Penh, u have better odds but it's still not great.

I'm just reading a thread on another forum where people were turned away today at Ban Phu Nam Ron attempting an in and out to trigger the next 90 days of a multiple Non O on the basis of being married. Now being told that cannot do it at that border any longer.

Ron *******
@Luke *******
reality is, as I said, apart from Vietiane, they have started to look at what your doing here. The last few weeks, there seems to be refusals from all over the place on the internet. You simply take your chance the more you do it.

Ron *******
@Luke *******
it makes no difference who does or doesn't get denied. If they think you've had enough, that's it. Just because somebody else gets one, it has no bearing on your application.
Robert ********
You should probably be asking this question to an agent :-)
Luke ******
ORIGINAL POSTER
I want to know the extent to which it's safe to use an agent. Because I believe there are some limits there as well, although higher than regular walk-ins.
Ron *******
If you know the answers then why bother posting if your going to be denied or not? If you think its safe to use an agent, then use an agent.

It's not hard to work out, that apart from Vientiane ( At the moment) the majority of Embassys and consulates in the region, are denying more and more people using back to back Tourist visas to stay here.

They won't give you a visa without the *proof of* (bank statement only). I try without bank statement with and without agent, got denied twice, even with a tons of $ in my wallet. The other 2 proof of they are less strict.

I understand, and I have no experience but I read comments and topics here. Thats why I mention the three proofs. The visa was denied for not having the three proofs, not of internal limits.
Maxim ***********
Didn't someone post earlier that he was denied while having all 3 *proof of*?
Luke ******

Robert Lagas I appreciate your response, I already succesfully obtained 2 consecutive SETVs from Phnom Pehn, I simply don't want to get a 3rd one voided because of exceeding their internal "limit".
Robert *******
The Embassy ask for proof of funds, proof of accommodation and proof of onward travel. You must have these three, not two out of three or you get also denied as the post you are refering to.
