Your Social Security retirement is based on what you claim as earnings. If you don't claim all your earnings, your retirement will be reduced forever. Up to you. I have a friend that is a retired bartender, he never claimed his tips and now his retirement check is 30% of mine.

You can get an second passport from the same country, if you need it for employment purposes. I had a primary one from the US and it was good for 10 years. I also had an alternate passport that was valid but only for 5 years.

The report is separate from your tax return. You file your taxes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and you file your FBAR online with the Department of Treasury. It is rather easy to fill out.

I am an CPA and have filed mine every year I have lived in Thailand. But most people I meet in Thailand don't bother.

This was the summer of 2021. I was at a quarantine hotel and tested positive. So they transferred me to Bang Lamung Hospital. It was OK. The staff didn't speak any English. Once my insurance was approved my meals improved, but I still didn't have any choice and it was only Thai. Some meals I eat, other times my wife brought me something to eat. But I didn't have any problems with AXA insurance. Nothing out of pocket.

I had AXA and they handled everything. Bill was paid before I left the hospital. I don't think I ever saw a bill. Hope that helps. I would recommend AXA to anyone. I was worried about having to pay the bill and fight with them. But it wasn't the case at all.

I tested positive a few months ago and had to spend the next 14 days in a Thai hospital. They never tested me again. I just had to spend my time there.

When they asked me for a certificate of Residence, I uploaded my rental contract and the condo management company wrote a letter stating that I am a resident of the condo complex and will be until 2022. It was approved in a couple of hours.

AXA. That is what I used and on the second day at the quarantine hotel I tested positive for covid. The hospital submitted the paperwork and AXA paid 100 % without any issues.
