My mate spent 2 days out of Phuket.. Stayed in a hotel. Took him 3 visits to immigration to re-register when he got back! Been in the same house 2 years! Been on extensions for retirement for 7 years. The landlord and his sister are getting really pissed-off with immigration, they have over 20 properties let to expats.
If the Landlord's name is not the same as on both the deeds and rental contract, there are further complications! My neighbour's rental agreement was with the Landlord's sister...(his 'agent') & a copy of her ID card, house docs and power of attorney, etc and she signed the rental agreement. Phuket immigration also wanted to see a power of attorney from the brother to the sister, or a direct rental agreement between the owner and the renter. It's getting very complicated in Phuket!
That is correct! They will then issue a letter stating that they have seen the relevant documents. No further proof is required by Phuket immigration. They (immigration) will convert the stated GB sterling to Thai baht at the lowest rate possible. In my case I use a combination of pensions income + money in the bank for 3 months.
Since when? I have recently got a letter from the UK Embassy stating that I have pensions totalling X GBP per year. This is valid 6mths. It was acceptable by immigration for my last extension.
Have you tried the Irish consulate in Chalong? They provided a verification of income letter for my friend who has a UK passport. The letter was accepted by Phuket immigration.
