ok, so my friend is a fifo, fly in fly out worker, one month at work in the mines, his month off, every second month he flys into Thailand to enjoy Thailand
He is repeatedly hassled by immigration on arrival to Thailand and told to get a proper/ correct visa 🤔🤔🤔
So do they think he is working on his month off 🤔 or gambling 🤔🤔🤔
And many more ppl report issues of being denied entry ect when doing back to back tourist entry
Myself, before Covid I would enter on METV 6 months
6 months Aus / 6 months Thailand
After a few years of this I made a trip visa exemption after only staying Aus for about 3 months
At the end of visa exempt in Thailand I crossed to Laos by land, stayed about 10 days then returned to Thailand by land and was asked by Thai immigration
Where is my visa , told I need a visa, I explained politely that I can enter by land twice with visa and this was my first entry by land
IO walked away to talk to someone else, returned and angrily stated that next time I needed to obtain a visa before entering Thailand
Maybe they didn’t get the memo that long term tourist are welcome 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you boarder bounce just before your visa expires, you should receive another 60 days on Re entry to Thailand, then go to immigration at the end of that and extend for another 30 days 1900 baht, then at the end of that boarder bounce and on Re entry you should receive another 30 days on Re entry & then go to immigration just before that 30 days finishes and apply for another 30 days 1900 baht
However you need to understand
Thailand does not like you staying long term (living in Thailand/ trying to stay long term ) on a tourist visa process
Entry into the kingdom is always at the discretion of the immigration officer who processes you on arrival to Thailand
You may be refused entry at any time
You could also go to Laos and apply for a second 6 month METV, it may or may not be approved
Some ppl have done it & it is possible, however usually if you you try a third time back to back application it will be denied
just check out Thai consulate Vientiane online as I believe you have to make a booking / appointment to apply for a visa, which would be best booked before you fly there
Others may be able to give information on the booking period, I think you need to book a few days in advance
