Make sure you have an onward ticket for a journey leaving the country within 45 days. You may well be asked for this when checking in for your flight

You can apply for the OX visa whilst in Thailand. Perhaps take a look at that first. It may not suit you and does require funds transferred to Thailand but is good for five years

Guess it depends where the OP is. It's a long hike in Bangkok for something which takes ten minutes at the airport, and you're walking right past the desk

It's not an office, it's just a desk as you go through immigration. You'll see a yellow sign saying "Re-entry Permit" and an arrow showing the way

OX visa gives you five years, can be extended a further five.

You won't get a straight answer from immigration either. You just do what the vast majority here have said. You work online but don't tell everyone what you're doing. Remember this is a country where you need a Work Permit to do volunteer work!

Chaengwattana require a hand drawn map, they do not accept Google printout. Doesn't have to be anything flash. Just show street you live on with an 'X' marks the spot and any cross streets/BTS station

That was the TAT. They don't have much influence over the Royal Thai Police who don't want it extended. The point I was making is that at this stage it finishes on March 31, and there's been no further reports of any extension, so any advice must be based on what is known, not what is rumour
