Good afternoon all. I need to apply for re-entry permit and I understand I can get it in the airport on the day of my departure. I’m trying to get an earlyish flight out. Does anyone know what time the immigration office is opened there? Or does anyone has any experience getting re entry permit in the airport and can share some advise/experience here. Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process of obtaining a re-entry permit at the airport in Thailand, specifically mentioning that the office is open 24 hours and located after security checks before the immigration area. Several commenters share their experiences: while it is convenient to acquire the permit at the airport, some suggest it may be less stressful to obtain it at a local immigration office before departure to avoid any last-minute issues or delays. Overall, the airport procedure is deemed quick and straightforward for those who choose it.

I just want to thank everyone for chiming in. Such a helpful bunch you lot. There’s a little desk at the corner where you go through immigration. As someone so rightly pointed out after security before immigration. You can’t missed it. I was catching the 8am flight this morning and didn’t want to chance it. But next time I’m definitely not traipsing all the way to immigration. The queue is short and the person manning it was pretty efficient.

Takes ten mins at the airport. Beats the shit out of traipsing to an immigration and waiting in the queue!

It's not an office, it's just a desk as you go through immigration. You'll see a yellow sign saying "Re-entry Permit" and an arrow showing the way

Why not go to your local immigration office and get the re-entry permit now. It is valid until the expiry of your current visa.

Guess it depends where the OP is. It's a long hike in Bangkok for something which takes ten minutes at the airport, and you're walking right past the desk

If you find there is no one manning the desk, you just need to find someone at security or immigration and ask them to send someone.
